Featuring 2022 Tundra

Everyone is excited for the release of the new 2022 Toyota Tundra and that includes the staff here at Team Toyota of Glen Mills. We have slowly been able to gather information about the new Tundra being released later in the fall. Toyota has done an amazing job at keeping all of its information under wraps until they are ready to release it. So far, some information, pictures, and speculations have been released for the TRD Pro line, but not on the other trim lines of the truck. We have compiled some information for you about what is known so far and we want to highlight that here!

"THE BIGGEST, AND WE MEAN THIS LITERALLY, NEW FEATURE IS THE OVERALL WIDTH OF THE TRUCK MEASURING IN AT OVER 80-INCHES WIDE."

Performance Features of the 2022 Tundra

The biggest piece of information that has been released is that all future Toyota trucks will be underpinned by a shared platform. This shared platform is known as a TNGA-F and it is a body-on-frame platform. This heavy duty frame is made from steel and other strong upgraded materials. This is already used in some of the newer Toyota models, but it will be used on the 2022 Toyota Tundra to make it more rigid and safer for the consumer. It is also speculated that Toyota will likely be using a coil spring rear suspension system. This system should improve the overall ride quality and should also improve the payload and towing capabilities.

All of this is wrapped up nicely by the speculated report from Car and Driver. They believe that the 2022 Toyota Tundra is going to come with a twin-turbocharged V6 Engine (similar to the Land Cruiser) with 409 Horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. It is also expected to have a hybrid variant of the powertrain because of the iForce Max Engine cover teaser picture released by Toyota.

Exterior and Interior Features of the 2022 Tundra

One of the nicest new features is the exterior look of the 2022 Tundra. Following modern styling trends, the new look includes a new grille design and a large front fascia. Included in the TRD Pro model is an integrated LED light bar in the front grille. The front bumper, grille, and fender flares all feature a beautiful and unique texturing that sets this Tundra apart in style and beauty. Moving around the outside of the Tundra are a unique set of wheels; 33-inch Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires. The biggest, and we mean this literally, new feature is the overall width of the truck measuring in at over 80-inches wide. The new exterior sounds beautiful and we can’t wait to start selling these beauties.

What has been released about the interior of the 2022 Tundra is only a picture. But, some super sleuths were able to pull apart the picture to give us some insight into what the TRD Pro might have. Some of the most noticeable features include the leather-wrapped steering wheel and a larger infotainment screen. Currently, the 2021 Tundra has an 8-inch unit and the one speculated to be in the 2022 model should be larger. The infotainment screen in the picture features Apple CarPlay functionalities. Android Auto is also expected to be included as it is a current feature. A tiny detail that can be noticed as well is the JBL Audio System integrated into this vehicle’s beauty. Toyota did confirm that a panoramic sunroof and power sliding rear window (that will go the whole way down) will be included. This will give the vehicle a feel of complete open-air. All these amazing features can be seen, but we are still waiting on final confirmation from Toyota about everything that is under speculation.

How much is it and when can I get the 2022 Toyota Tundra?

Currently, the 2022 Toyota Tundra is slated to be released in the Fall, which would align with the correct timing for a 2022 model. No official date has been set yet. Along with that, an official price hasn’t been posted, but if following the current model of the Tundra, starting at $34,025, it is believed to remain in the mid $30,000 range. Again, no official price has been released, but if it follows in the 2021 Tundra’s footsteps (or should we say tire treads) it will be in the same price range.
